
Daniela holds a PhD Degree in Bioengineering from Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. She studied the process of technological innovation for emergent therapies in healthcare in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She lived in the Boston area for about two years, while doing research at MIT. Daniela holds a M.Sc. Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Universidade do Minho, Portugal. During this period, Daniela enrolled the ‘ERASMUS’ Program as a researcher at Politecnico di Milano.
She has participated and been awarded in different strategic and business plan competitions, such as the Alnylam Strategic Competition at MIT Sloan School of Management. She has also been distinguished with entrepreneurship prizes, such the Women Entrepreneur Award – Start 2011 by ANJE, the Portuguese Association for Young Entrepreneurs. Daniela serves Cell2B as Vice-President and CEO.

David Braga Malta is President, Executive VP and co-founder of Cell2B. David is a PhD in Bioengineering from the MIT Portugal Program and holds a M.Sc. Degree in Biological Engineering, Instituto Superiror Tecnico, Portugal. During his master David lived in London and attended the Imperial College of London as a visiting scientist working on stem cell based regeneration of lung tissue. For his PhD David was at MIT working on stem cell based therapies at the Koch Institute. His academic career focuses of the field of regenerative medicine with several publications and patents in the field.
One of his greatest passions as always been entrepreneurship. David has participated and been awarded in different competitions as a graduate student. David serves Cell2B as President and Executive VP.

Francisco holds a M.Sc. Biological Engineering and he is a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal. Francisco serves Cell2B as CSO and is responsible for the implementation and management of all R&D programs.
His work focuses on the clinical application of mesenchymal stem cells for bone marrow transplantation. During his PhD Francisco was the scientist behind the application of mesenchymal stem cells to patients with aGvHD and was leading the experimental part of the collaboration with Portuguese Institute for Oncology. Before joining Cell2B Francisco worked at the Wageningen Centre for Food Science in the Netherlands.

Pedro is a Master in Biological Engineering and a Ph.D. in BioEngineering Systems, MIT-Portugal Program, Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal. Previously he worked on the clinical expansion of mesenchymal stem cells and currently focuses on their application in the hematopoietic system.
Pedro serves Cell2B as Chief Operational Officer and is in charge of all Global Operations for the Company, particularly for cGMP production. Prior to starting his PhD Pedro worked as an intern at Unilever, NL.
Rui Horta e Costa is Director and Chief Financial Officer of Cell2B. Rui holds an MBA (University of Minnesota and a Bachelors in Economics from the Catholic University in Lisbon, Portugal. Rui is also the Executive Coordinator of the CCR/OTP Consortium, created to bid for the Privatization of ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, Founder and Member of the Board of Luz.on, a promoter of solar plant projects. He sits on the Board of EIP – Electricidade Industrial Portuguesa, a leading company in construction and installation of power lines, present in nine countries. He his President of the Boards of Biodroid Entertainment and of Biodroid Production, companies involved in creating and producing computer games and related products for entertainment and education purposes.
Previously he was a Managing Director in UBS’s Investment Banking Division in London and Head of the Utilities Team for EMEA and a Member of the Investment Banking Management Board for the EMEA Region. Before UBS, he had served for six years as Member of the Board and CFO at EDP—Energias de Portugal. While at EDP he actively participated in the company’s strategic change, having led the implementation of its re-focus in Iberia and accelerated growth in renewable energies, as well as the complete restructuring and ring fencing of EDP’s Latin American businesses.Prior to that, he had been working both in industry (Executive Board of Nutrinveste) and investment banking (MDM, Citibank and UBS), both in Lisbon (8 years) and London (6 years), involved mainly in Portugal, Spain and Brazil.

Paula serves Cell2B as the Qualified Person and Head of the Quality Department. As QP Paula is in charge of the quality system for the company and for ensuring that Cell2B follows all GMP requirements ensuring patient safety.
Before joining Cell2B Paula was QC manager at Shering Plough Pharma. Paula has been on the Pharmaceutical Industry for more than 20 year with extensive experience quality control and quality assurance. Paula is a certified PharmD and Quality Person by the national board of PharmDs.

Marina serves Cell2B as quality control manager and is responsible for quality control within the GMP environment. Marina is a biotechnological engineer by training and has significant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
Before joining Cell2B Marina was the supervisor of the microbiology laboratory at Schering Plough Pharma (now MSD) and as worked at Sofarimex and Novartis in the QC departments.

Tânia is a Senior Scientist at Cell2B and is responsible for one of the R&D laboratories. Tânia is focused on R&D for product development.
Tânia has extensive training holding a PhD in Molecular Biology and a Masters in Clinical Microbiology. Before joining Cell2B Tânia was a Senior Scientist at Biotecnol a Portuguese Biotech Company.

Mário Pinto is Member of the Board of Cell2B representing Change Partners, a Portuguese VC firm. Mário is a Bachelor in Economics and a Master from INSEAD. He is President of Change Partners and managing partner of PSISA – Consulting. Mário is currently CEO of CEV, a biotech company focused on the development of fungicidal products from lupine for both agricultural and human health.
Mário is member of the board of Fluidinova, a fluid engineering company, Hottrade, a trading company and BA, a glass company. Previously, Mário was director of Banco Português de Investimento, one of the largest banks in Portugal, senior analyst at Banco Totta&Açores and Assistant Professor at The Economics School in Porto.

Amy Davenport is Director of Cell2B and a USA natural. She moved to Portugal after her graduation from the Dartmouth College. She holds an MBA form Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Amy started her career at Ocidental Seguros (insurance company) and moved to the Marketing department of the Bank that owned Ocidental, where she was Marketing Director.
Since then Amy manages her family’s private equity focused on commercial real estate and tourism. Amy invests in new technology ventures and Intellectual Property.
Besides these activities Amy is member of the Board of YDreams, and interactive technology company, Laço, a non-profit organization devoted to breast cancer and Oeiras International School.
